Kids’ Uni is thrilled to invite educators from across the Illawarra region to an evening dedicated to fostering connection and enhancing Educator Wellbeing. Join us for an insightful and engaging event featuring tours, presentations, and opportunities to connect with fellow early childhood professionals.

Time: 6.30PM – 8.30PM

Location: Kids’ Uni North/South – Building 10, UOW Main Campus

What Should I Expect?

Feel free to attend all or some of the information sessions or take a relaxed stroll through our classrooms to chat with our room leaders. A light supper will be provided.

  • Tours of Our Services: Explore two of our dynamic services and see firsthand how we create supportive learning environments for children birth to five years.
  • Presentations by Our Leadership Team:
    • Louise Windisch, Head of Early Education: Learn about our evolving recruitment and induction processes designed to align our teams with our pedagogical philosophies.
    • Emma Rattenbury, Practice Support Teacher: Discover how Emma’s role supports educators and enhances their practice in areas such as inclusion, educational programs and being a play partner for children to enhance learning.
    • Lucy Moore, Early Intervention Director and Occupational Therapist: Gain valuable insights into strategies for successful inclusion of neurodivergent learners. Explore sensory and behaviour supports that can enhance your approach and create a more inclusive environment.
    • Pashenka Gribbin, Early Intervention Speech Therapist: Unlock the Power of Key Word Sign (KWS)! Join Pashenka for a 15-minute introduction to the basics of KWS. This introduction offers a concise overview of KWS principles, gesture usage, and its application with diverse communication methods. Explore how you can enrich your teaching practice and support effective communication for all learners.
    • Kate Norman, Wellbeing Coordinator: Experience a mindful exercise incorporating Aboriginal cultural practices of mindful movement and Deep Listening, aimed at boosting wellbeing and fostering communities of care and respect within our classrooms.
